Project: Backyard

Some stories don’t happen in perfect locations.
They happen where life actually takes place.

Backyard is a storytelling project inspired by post-Soviet and Eastern European aesthetics — worn chairs, concrete ground, muted colors and daily rituals. A woman sits outside, rollers still in her hair, cigarette burning slowly between her fingers. The dog stays close. Watching. Waiting.

This project isn’t about posing or recreating a stereotype.
It’s about atmosphere. Stillness. Presence.

The relationship between owner and dog here is quiet but unmistakable. No commands, no tricks. Just proximity and trust. The dog isn’t performing — it’s existing in its role.

I’m looking for dogs with calm confidence and owners who feel comfortable in raw, unpolished settings. The shoot will be slow, intentional and guided — no pressure, no acting required.

Backyard is about the moments we don’t normally document, but remember the longest.
