Project: Protected

Strength. Trust. Presence.

For an upcoming storytelling project, I’m looking for dogs with strong presence and children who feel calm and confident around them.

This project explores contrast:
size versus vulnerability, strength versus softness — and the quiet bond between a dog and a child.

The Concept

The scene focuses on a dog being:

  • calmly walked by a child

  • or positioned protectively near a child

Not in a dramatic or aggressive way — but through posture, presence and stillness.

Think:

  • a large dog walking slowly next to a small figure

  • or a small, confident dog standing guard beside a child

The images will feel cinematic, grounded and honest.

Who I’m Looking For

Dogs

  • Large dogs with a calm, steady presence
(shepherds, molossers, working breeds, strong mixes)
    or

  • Middle dogs with a bold, confident attitude e.g. staffies

The dog must be:

  • comfortable around children

  • able to remain calm on leash

  • non-reactive in quiet outdoor settings

Training level is less important than temperament.

Children

  • Children who feel safe and relaxed around dogs (age 3-6 years)

  • Able to walk or stand calmly

  • No posing or acting required

Parental presence is required at all times.

Safety & Approach

This project is handled with absolute priority on safety.

  • Sessions are calm and controlled

  • Dogs remain leashed at all times

  • No sudden movements or stressful situations

  • Parents are present throughout the entire session

Nothing is forced — if a moment doesn’t feel right, we stop.

The Session

  • Short, guided session

  • Quiet outdoor or urban location

  • Slow pace, plenty of breaks

  • Focus on natural posture and interaction

No performance, no pressure.

What Participants Receive

  • A storytelling photoshoot

  • 3–5 fully edited images

  • Personal use rights

  • Images may be used for portfolio and social media

(All usage will be discussed and approved beforehand.)

How to Apply

Please reach out via the contact form and include:

  • Dog’s name, breed, age

  • Short description of temperament

  • Child’s age

  • A few recent photos

  • Your general availability

Selected participants will be contacted with full details.

Important Notes

  • Not all applicants will be selected

  • Selection is based on energy, presence and suitability for the concept

  • Participation is voluntary and respectful at all times
